ACCCA Great Deans Program
The ACCCA Great Dean’s Program is a transformational experience designed for new deans within their first five years. This cohort-based community-learning program draws from the expertise of thought leaders and seasoned administrators from around the state, and it provides mentorship, an established knowledge base, and technical skill building, with a focus on your leadership development.
Each year the Great Dean’s cohort members work together to build trusting networks of support as they successfully navigate their professional and personal journeys and complete the program with a solid foundation to succeed as effective, equity-focused administrators who are prepared to execute their short and long-term career goals. Every ACCCA PD program is strategically crafted to guarantee a diverse group of highly skilled leaders is prepared to meet the future administrative requirements of California community colleges.
The ACCCA Great Dean’s Program focuses on these key areas:
- Equity and Social Justice
- Supervision and Leadership
- Administrative Policies, Procedures, and Structures
- Networking, Community Building, and Personal Wellness
Program Overview
- Application required to be accepted into this program.
- The program fee if accepted is $2,050.
- The 8-month program begins with a three-day institute in Sacramento.
- Two regional in-person all-day workshops are scheduled in the fall.
- A pre-conference training at the Annual ACCCA Conference.
- Virtual intersession check-ins to support training concepts and build community throughout the year (optional).

The Great Deans Program is designed for current deans who are committed to deepening their leadership practice and expanding their impact within their institutions. Ideal participants are those who are reflective, equity-minded leaders seeking to refine their approach, engage in meaningful dialogue with peers, and navigate the complexities of the role with greater clarity and intention.
