APPLICATION DEADLINE

This form can be used to apply for either Cohort 7 or Cohort 8 – if you have no preference, select “Both” in the form. All applications must be submitted in full online by 5:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2026.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Please be prepared to spend approximately 10-20 minutes filling out the application. Your responses may include examples of the following:

Cohorts 7 and 8 again expand the program beyond current administrators and invites applications from current California Community College employees with administrator, classified staff and faculty classifications.
Professional development or learning experiences related specifically to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA)
Experience as an educator or practitioner of social justice
Personal areas of growth and development within the DEIA and social justice space
Identity self-assessment
Presentations or published papers within the last year with a DEIA or social justice focus (OPTIONAL)

Your responses to the following prompts will be used as part of the vetting process, and to assist our selection committee in determining your level of experience for the formation of cohorts to create a well-rounded community of learners.

Very limited or no experience/understanding/exposure Individuals at this level may have little to no direct involvement or exposure.

Moderate experience/understanding/exposure Individuals with moderate experience have engaged in activities on a somewhat regular basis. They may have attended workshops, training sessions, or events.

Considerable experience/understanding/exposure Individuals with considerable experience have actively sought out and engaged with these opportunities. They may have participated in extensive training programs, taken leadership roles or integrated these principles into their work consistently.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Applying for a scholarship will not impact your application and is not a factor in our application review process. Only four scholarships will be offered to cover the program fee. Scholarship recipients are responsible for travel, lodging and any other fees. Even if you are not selected for a scholarship, you will be invited to participate in the program at full cost.

To ensure accessibility of this program, we are offering three scholarships to cover the $1,300 program fee. Please provide a breakdown of the expected cost of attending this program and how you plan to fund it if you do not receive the scholarship. Please include program fees, travel, lodging, meals, etc.

If invited to participate, I understand that:

The Registration Fee for the Institute will be $1,300. The program includes a virtual orientation, a 4-day residency (required), and a series of six subsequent workshops (required) held virtually. There will be a welcome reception on Day 1 in the evening with food.

As a participant in the SJCA Cohort, I agree to attend all required virtual and in-person events, complete all assessments and evaluations as requested to assist the program team in accumulating and tracking data that will be kept confidential and used for further program development. Not completing all evaluations may result in being removed from the program

The residency program includes breakfast and/or luncheon each day, with appropriate breaks throughout the day, as well as all related materials and instruction/coaching. The program does not include sponsored dinners (subject to change).

I also understand that I am responsible for my travel and accommodation costs related to all in person events held within the Institute.
