DAY 1:

JULY 20, 2021  9:00AM - 2:00PM

Presented by: Dr. Joe Wyse, Superintendent/President Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District and Dr. Judy Miner, Chancellor, Foothill-De Anza Community College District

The presenters will provide a brief overview of community college governance in a multi-college district and a single-college district with the majority of time devoted to Q&A to make sure they answer YOUR questions.

DAY 2:

Presented by: Dr. Sarah Schrader, Vice President, College & Administrative Services, Modesto Junior College and Lizette Navarette, Vice Chancellor, College Finance and Facilities Planning, California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office

This first part of this session will give you an understanding of the budget development process after the release of the Governor’s Budget, May Revision and passage of the State budget from the District and College perspective.

You will also hear from the State Chancellor’s office regarding this historic budget and opportunity to forge a path towards an equitable recovery. The presentation will provide an overview of the 2021-22 State Budget and the various investments that support districts as they advance the goals of the Vision for Success.

DAY 3:

Presented by: Dr. Cindy Vyskocil, Vice Chancellor, Human Resources, South Orange County CCD; Crystal Crane, Executive District Director, Human Resources & Employee/Employer Relations, Coast CCD; and Jacques Whifield, Principal HR Consultant, Trainer, Presenter, CPS HR Consulting
On this day you will hear from three of the best from the CCD HR world! The morning will be spent with Cindy Vyskocil and Crystal Crane discussing how to lead through change from the perspective of human resources. The afternoon presentation with Jacque Whitfield will discuss how to best navigate in and through these difficult and ever changing times while keeping your HR perspective at the forefront.

DAY 4:

Presented by: Joshua Moon-Johnson, Dean of Student Services, Library, & Learning Resources, Title IX Coordinator, American River College and Stacey Shears, Vice President of Student Services, Berkeley City College

This will be an interactive day focused on the intersections of race, identity and privilege in our work as administrators.

DAY 5:

JULY 28, 2021  9:00AM - 2:00PM

Change Management

Presented by: Jeff DeFranco,  Superintendent/President, Lake Tahoe CCD

This presentation will address the unique elements of driving change in the California Community College system with lessons based on the organizational change literature. Current best practice change models will be discussed with the information deriving from Ted Talks, NY Times best sellers, and research-based change leadership articles. The presentation will cover tools to lead change at both the college and district level. Examples from higher education and industry, both successful and unsuccessful, will be shared. This session is a must for any community college leader looking to lead a change initiative.

DAY 6:

JULY 30, 2021  9:00AM - 2:00PM

Team Projects

Facilitated by: Russi Egan, Vice President of Administrative Services, Lake Tahoe CCD and Stacey Shears, Vice President of Student Services, Berkeley City College

Take all of the things you have learned from the previous days and turn them into a group project.  This session will be presented by YOU, the Admin 101 Cohort of 2021.
